Urbanization refers to the population shift from rural to urbanĀ areas. However, urban areas often develop too quickly to sustain a high quality of life for everyone in the area. As a result, these urban areas often become abandoned or the economy begins to fail. Along with these effects, crime and vandalism begins to increase. While vandalism is often considered a crime, it is also an art form. Although the two are not necessarily intertwined, when I think of vandalism, I think about the zef culture style. Zef is all about having style even though you have no money. While vandalism is usually done by people with low quality of life, vandalism provides powerful artwork and statements. In this way, I see urban vandalism similar to the zef style.
